Freshman F1 enthusiast Kendrick Trubia’s favorite album is Channel Orange by Frank Ocean.
His favorite songs on the iconic R&B album are “Bad Religion” and “Lost.”
He says this is his favorite album because “It has some pretty cool beats.”

Soccer player Natalia LLamas says her favorite album is Graduation by Kanye West.
When asked why it is her favorite album she said, “Because I love Kanye.”


Freshman homecoming court prince Cameron Briscoe says his favorite album is My Turn by Lil Baby.
I asked why and he responded, “It pleases my ears.”


Experienced music listener Kaylan Bertram’s favorite album is Coastal Grooves by Blood Orange.
Her favorite song from the album is “The complete Knock.”
When asked why this is her favorite album, she responded, “Cause it’s so groovy,” and “Cause I love Blood Orange.”


Energy Drink enjoyer Joshua Wright’s favorite album is My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West.
This is his favorite album because of its production quality.
His favorite songs on the album are “So Apalled” and “Gorgeous.”


Tennis player Chris Basinger says his favorite album is Angel’s Pulse by Blood Orange. His favorite song on the album is “Tuesday’s feeling.”
When asked why this is his favorite album, Chris said, “I love the fun instrumentals.”

When asked about his favorite album, beloved science teacher Mr. Price couldn’t choose one particular album. Instead, he chose Doolittle by the Pixies because of how much it influenced the music scene.

According to Mr. Price, “No one screamed in music until him.” “Him” being Black Francis, lead singer of the Pixies. In my interview with him, Mr. Price passionately explained how The Pixies paved the way for the grungy, high energy, garage rock sound that is so iconic in the history of rock.
For example, The Pixies had a major influence on Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. Mr. Price’s favorite song on Doolittle album is “Tame.”


Skilled bowler and track athlete Cody Hayes’s favorite album So Close to What by Tate Mcrae. His favorite track on the album is “Greenlight.”
When asked why this is his favorite album, he responded, “Oh, because I love Tate Mcrae.”
Cody recently went to a Tate Mcrae concert and saw her perform some of the songs from the album.

Freshman Iker Martinez’s favorite album is Testing by A$AP Rocky. His favorite song on the album is “Hun43rd.”
He said this is his favorite album because the beats are really nice and he likes the transitions between songs.


Footballer Earlie Alexander’s favorite album is The Life Of Pablo by Kanye West.
His favorite song on the release is “No more parties in LA.”
Why is it his favorite album? Earlie says, “because Kanye is him.”

3rd period math student 3rd period math student Aubrey Wood’s favorite album is Meliora by GHOST. Her favorite track on the recording is “Mummy Dust.”
She says this is her favorite album because of its “spooky aesthetic.” This is the most niche album I got through my interviews. So, I decided to listen to it, and it has a very unique, spooky aesthetic indeed. It is currently very appropriate for the halloween season.


Freshman Brayden Borden said his favorite album is the band Crossfade’s self-titled
album. His favorite song on the audio compilation is “cold.” This is his favorite song because of how much emotion the song has.


Soccer player Vivianna Varela’s favorite album is OK Computer by Radiohead. Her favorite song on the 1997 release is “Let Down,”—which if you have seen her TikTok profile should be no surprise to you (niche reference intended).
When asked why this is her favorite album, Vivianna said, “because it’s like the best.”

Volleyball player Reagan Swanson’s favorite album is Another One by Mac Demarco. Her favorite track from the indie pop release is “No Other Heart.”
When asked why this is her favorite album, she responded, “Because it’s really dope man.”

Cross Country athlete Landon Martin’s favorite albums are Coyote by Tommy Richman and To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. His favorite song on Coyote is “Vanity.” His favorite song on To Pimp a Butterfly is “Wesley’s Theory.”

According to Landon, Coyote “never gets boring,” and is “very underrated.”
Landon also says To Pimp a Butterfly is “one of the best rap albums of all time,” and appreciates how deeply Kendrick dives into themes such as racism and oppresion.


Cross country athlete Jackson Ruiz’s favorite album is Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers by Kendrick Lamar. His favorite song on the album is “Count Me out.” He says this is his favorite album because he listened to it a lot during COVID and he’s very nostalgic for it.

Freshman Vivienne Smalley’s favorite album is Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Her favorite song on the album is “Five Years.”
This is her favorite album “cause every song on it is good.”

Cross country athlete Lorenzo Larios’s favorite album is Kid A/Kid Amnesia by Radiohead. His favorite song on the album and of all time is “How to Disappear Completely.”
He loves the dystopian ambiance all throughout the tracks. The idea of Kid A is that Kid A is the first cloned child in a dystopian world.
In conclusion, the students’ music taste here at Tumwater High School is very diverse, and unique. From R&B to alternative rock, i’m sure there is someone here who has similar music taste to yours.
