This last Tuesday, the Tumwater High School Varsity team played the North Thurston Rams. I personally had never been to any soccer games before this one, so it was an interesting experience. A few things that stood out to me were Tumwater’s dedication, hard work, and energy.

It was pouring rain almost the entire time (My camera and I got soaked) and they were still in the field giving it their all. The Rams got a goal early on, but after that the T-birds defense was on point. For the most part, it was a bunch of back and forth, with the effective offense of the Rams and the fantastic defense of the T-birds, the game ended in a dead tie of 1-1.

The first point was taken by the Rams during the first half. No other goals were made until the start of the second half. Many players noted the comeback that happened during that game. It started out pretty rough but they pushed through and got better, and Isaak Djigal scored a goal for Tumwater!
I asked Brody Randazzo (I hope I spelled this right) what is something that he thinks people don’t know about soccer. And he responded, “I think how much skill it takes. It’s a lot more than just running around on a field.”. And I agree with that statement. This was my first time really watching soccer and I was blown away by how intense it could get.
I would highly recommend coming to one of their upcoming games and supporting them. It was a fun and new experience for me and I think that others would enjoy it as well. Go Birds!
