If you are interested in playing a sport at THS, spring is the perfect time! There’s just one month left until the first practices (see featured image for more information). Even if you’re not quite sure if you want to do a sport, there’s nothing wrong with trying one out!

Marcus Suderman, a freshman at THS, has been playing baseball for seven years. “The sport teaches life lessons and you get to be around the people you love.” Marcus’ favorite memory about baseball is travelling and going to places with his team.

Makayla Cook is a junior at THS and this will be her second year playing golf. “I like playing golf because it is less competitive and more about personal growth and just having fun.” Her favorite memory is getting ice cream with her team after practice.

Alex Santacruz is a junior at THS and this will be his 4th year playing soccer. He says that he loves playing because “I get to play with my friends and it is competitive.” His favorite memory is the time after games on the bus rides home with his team and his friends.

Charlotte Sullivan, a senior at THS, has been playing softball for eleven years now. “I enjoy the camaraderie and I like staying active and having something to do.” Charlotte’s favorite memory about the sport is watching the softball coach from WF West’s coach crash out after Tumwater’s team beat them, saying it was hilarious.

James Streuli is a junior at THS and this will be his 6th year doing track and field. “It is great,” he explained and added that he just loves to run. One of his favorite memories is when it snowed doing practice.

Casey Clark is a junior at THS and this will be her second year playing tennis. This year, Casey hopes to get a chance at doing singles in Varsity. “I like it because a lot of my friends play tennis and I get to be around them. The new experiences help me grow as a person and as an athlete. It is super fun and interesting!” Casey couldn’t think of a specific memory, but she explained that she liked to try a new sport.

Addisyn Rees is a sophomore at THS and this will be her second year playing flag football. When being asked why she likes it, Addisyn explained that she has played a lot of sports in the past but this is the sport that she has grown to and that she loves. “I like playing defense and the team is always so great!” Her favorite memory from last year was at the team’s last game, where everybody was crying and all the seniors were saying good-bye. She was bittersweet about all the things her team experienced together.
