Household name and worldwide recognized lyrical genius, Drake, has officially announced the start of a new, icy era marked by the dropping of his new album ICEMAN. The Canadian rapper took to promoting the release date of his new album by delivering a million pounds of ice that stood 25 feet high in downtown Toronto. After his chaotic and highstake publicity stunt quickly went viral and caught the attention of fans nationwide, residents took to destroying the structure-with the hope that the anticipated release date was frozen somewhere inside. After fans used drastic measures- including blowtorches, pick axes, sledgehammers, salt and makeshift fires- to destroy Drake’s icy installation, their awaited goal was achieved. Twitch streamer Kishka discovered it, revealing the date to be May 15.

Fans worldwide tuned in to participate in the countdown of Drake’s album, staying up till the late hours of the night. The whole city of Toronto was frozen in anticipation, with Drake turning the CN Tower into an icy, blue structure. To everyone’s surprise, ICEMAN, along with two other albums named Maid Of Honour and Habibti, were simultaneously released, comprising a trilogy with a total of 43 new tracks.

ICEMAN:
This 18 track album features themes of aggression and reflection. Drake contemplations his past, his roots, and his journey to the top of the music world. Its vengeful rap-heavy aspects follows his previous feud and shoots several jabs in the form of disses aimed at Kendrick Lamar, LeBron James, A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, JAY-Z, DJ Khaled, J Cole, Rick Ross, Mustard, Pharrell Williams and Pusha T. “Colder” tones of betrayal, resilience, luxury, isolation and independence shape this album into Drake’s “new persona”. Future, 21 Savage, and Molly Santana are artists featured on this album.

Maid Of Honour:
This 14-track surprise album carries a theme of storytelling through dance-like music with elements of EDM and Jersey club. Unlike his confrontational ICEMAN, this album features concepts of loyalty, emotion, and relationships. Key collaborations include Sexyy Red, Central Cee, Stunna Sandy, Iconic Savvy and Popcaan.

Habibti:
This 11-track surprise album is influenced heavily by soft, emotional R&B and slow tempos. With a looming atmosphere of the loneliness and emptiness that Drake’s high profile life comes with, we see the romantic and vulnerable side of the artist. PARTYNEXTDOOR, Sexyy Red, Loe Shimmey, and Qendresa are artists featured on this album.
