So, long story short, I’m planning to write a book. Right now, it’s in the rough draft stage, and I need to know if people would actually read it.
Title and Overview
The working title of the book is Your Sins are Real to Us. It’s a single book following four people from different backgrounds and experiences. Steph Victor, who lives in a two-bedroom apartment with his single mother who spends their money at the bar and is never home. Rise Hans, who was orphaned as a child and worked to build their life. Victoria Speare, left out on the street alone after her mother was murdered. And Leon Pearce, who tells nobody where they came from.
When Steph meets Victoria, he takes her to the smoothie bar he works at, where the two meet Rise and Leon (who were already friends at the time). But of course, nothing is perfect and Victoria and Leon can never see eye-to-eye. Unfortunately for Leon and Victoria, Steph and Rise had already started talking and seemed to be becoming fast friends through a shared love for pop culture and banter.
Rise invites the group away from the city of Harway and to Kerstein, the rich neighborhood, as Rise goes to university there and has received a letter from the headmaster. Steph accepts the invite to go with, much to Victoria’s dismay. Afterwards, despite some… issues… and distrust, Rise takes the group with them on their errands to study people around the continent for a paper the headmaster had requested they write, eventually landing them all in a Calum (their world’s version of a church).
In the Calum, Leon and Victoria both start acting more and more distasteful towards each other. Eventually, they get kicked out by the Lessar (their version of a priest), and Rise snaps, yelling at the two for being so destructive.
Torn apart from the inside, the group takes a break from each other. But when they finally come back together, disaster strikes in the form of insanity.
More About
This world has its own religious system based loosely on Christianity. It has new stories, concepts, and traditions.
It’s a borderline-dystopian world where each city except Harway is based on one of the seven deadly sins. The book relies heavily on its religious system and character development. The characters have very different personalities and flaws- Steph’s too innocent for his own good, Rise has a slight “I’m better and smarter than you” complex, Victoria has silently explosive anger issues, and Leon can be a little too blunt.
That’s all… For now
I hope you find it intriguing!
There will be a poll on our Instagram to see who would read the book, so please feel free to leave feedback!
