New Market registrations just opened yesterday, and if you aren’t confident in what you want to do, summer New Market classes may be right up your alley!
New Market’s Summer School Program is a way to test out a class for 3 weeks, from 8am to 3pm (with the 4th of July off). It is a way to get credit while also learning about the things you may be willing to pursue.
Registration opens April 15th at 8am; Open House is on June 11th from 5-7pm. To sign up, you can go on New Market’s web page at 8am to sign up for a guaranteed spot!
THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW
ATTENDENCE:
If you are missing more than two days, you will earn a failing grade. This rule applies to both excused and unexcused absences.
CLASS HOURS:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
There is NO SCHOOL on Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th.
CLOSED CAMPUS:
New Market is a closed campus, you cannot leave without a parent’s permission.
YOU CAN BE A FRESHMAN AND TAKE SUMMER SCHOOL:
You can be an upcoming freshman to take summer school! It’s up to any age.
LUNCH AND DELI:
Students will get a 30 minute lunch break every day. They are welcome to bring lunch from home or purchase something from our New Market Deli. The Deli will be closed the first 2 days of summer session and the last 2 days, so please remember to bring lunch and snacks from home those days. Students are
not allowed to leave during the day as it is a closed campus.
PROGRAM FEES:
It is completely free!!
REPORT CARDS:
Grades will be reported to schools to be posted on high school transcripts, and report cards will be mailed home within 2 weeks after the session.
TRANSPORTATION:
School buses are not available for summer school. Transportation is the responsibility of the indivi
dual.
