This past weekend, our amazing Lady T-Bird Soccer team faced off against Woodland in a hard-fought game. The intense matchup against the Beavers definitely forced the Lady T-Birds to work together to compete. The T-Birds fought hard for the majority of the first half. Woodland was able to score in the first half, tying up the game 1-1. Eventually, the game was taken over by the T-Birds, who pulled through with a win from a PK.
Coach Carson, also known as Mrs. Carson to most of her students, shared her thoughts on the game, saying, “Our girls battle every game and continue to find a way to win! This game was won with bravery, courage, and grit!”
When asked for her point of view on the game, Cassidy Hedin said, “It was a game full of ups and downs. We had an awesome win through PKs, and I think that really brought the team together after a frustrating game.” The girls showed a lot of perseverance and trust in each other, working together to pull through with another T-Bird win.
As a senior here at THS, Cassidy reflected on her high school soccer experience and had nothing but great things to say about her senior year overall. “I have had the most amazing senior season. I love my team so much, and I could not have asked for a better experience. I think the heart and values of what Tumwater soccer is have been stronger than ever. I am so excited to see what this team does in the coming years!”
I also interviewed Brynn Carson to describe the intensity of the game from her point of view. She described the game down to the final moments: “When Wendy’s shot went in, it made all the running and hard work we have done over the summer worth it. I’m so proud of this team, and I’m super excited to see what we can achieve in the postseason.”

This game showed what Tumwater soccer is all about heart, unity, and grit. As the Lady T-Birds move on to the next game, their energy and hard work will carry them far. We wish them the best of luck finishing out their season hopefully with a win. Go Birds!
