Tumwater high school volleyball is a very competitive, powerhouse, and well-established team. Many students attend and love to watch the team, stand in the nest and cheer on the amazing team! They stand out with their crazy rallies, fun to watch expressions, and their high energy sets.
Yes, Varsity is fun to watch and the team is mostly upperclassmen, but our Junior Varsity and C-team are also extremely competitive and are dominating the competition!
For my first interview I interviewed Freshman Jean Petty when I asked her how THS volleyball has developed her as a person/player she said, “It makes the sport more enjoyable as a person watching my team play and as a player playing with them, and it has helped me learn how it really balance school and volleyball!” She went to explain how shes had a amazing experience so far. She plays on the C-team as a setter and defensive specialist.
The games are very fun to watch and always full of energy, they’ve been working hard and bringing the energy dress the weekly theme and be there!
Chloe Johnson, a freshman on Junior varsity, said her favorite memory is traveling to away games with her teammates. “The bus rides and being able to play with people I’ve never played with before.” So many great memories and friendships are made throughout the volleyball season and because of volleyball, That’s one of the great things about THS volleyball.

I interviewed Keegan Turner, a freshman, she’s on Junior Varsity that is also a swing player for Varsity! and when I asked how her season has been so far she said “So far my season has been good, we have won almost all of our games. I’m a freshman on JV and a highlight of my season is getting to be a swing for varsity.” All of our THS volleyball teams are full of extremely talented athletes and the unity and sisterhood is truly a great thing to watch.
The next time you come to watch a volleyball game don’t forget to come early to watch JV and C-team!
