THS Freshmen’s Opinions: First or Second Lunch?
I interviewed five freshmen, two from second lunch and three from first lunch, to gather their opinions on which lunch they prefer. If they like their lunch, would they switch to a second or first lunch if they had the option? Is it any different from Eighth
Izzy Gannie, the first person I interviewed, said, “I like first lunch because I have friends in it. I would not switch to second lunch because most of my friends are in my lunch.” She likes that the first lunch is early; most of the time, she doesn’t have time to eat breakfast. She doesn’t like how crowded the first lunch is.
Natalia Llamas Guerrero says, “I like first lunch because I get to roam the halls, be on my phone, and listen to music alone.” However, she dislikes that none of her close friends have lunch with her. She would switch lunches specifically to be with her friends rather than spending lunch alone.
Noora El-Mobdy, the third person I interviewed, said, “I’m glad I have 1st lunch since a lot of my friends have that lunch and we all get to sit together.” She doesn’t like that the first lunch is so crowded and loud.
2nd lunch opinions
Naomi RossRodriguez, she stated, “I don’t prefer second lunch because it is later in the day, and I get hungry during first-fourth periods because I don’t have breakfast.” Naomi wishes she had gotten first lunch since it’s earlier in the day, and more of her friends have first lunch.
Ava Johnson says, “I like second lunch because it’s later in the day and I prefer later lunches rather than having an early lunch.” She wouldn’t switch lunches because she had heard it was super crowded. Some people have to sit outside instead of at the tables.
