Rubber ducky enthusiast Noah Pickard said his favorite part of the season was his “Rubber ducky Thursday,” and described the season as “eventful.” He also describes cross country as tight-knit and enjoys the community.
When asked what his favorite part of cross country is, track javelin thrower Daniel Foster, said “The teamwork and community is amazing.” He chose the word “exhausting” to describe this year’s season.
William Zahn says his favorite part of cross country is hanging out with friends. His word for the season was “running.”
Freshman Oliver Malone says his favorite part is making friends and learning about people. He described the season as “challenging.”
Landon Martin likes most that everyone on the cross country team works together and cheers each other on. He says cross country is the sport where the team is most similar to a family. He describes the season as “mental.”
Track discus thrower Jackson Ruiz’s favorite part of the cross country season was the big invitationals and away meets because you get to spend a lot of time with friends. He describes the season as “bumpy.”
Self-described “coolest Gallagher” Grayson Gallagher’s favorite part of the cross country season was the summer practices, intervals, and long runs. He described the season as “fun.”
Senior Tyler Aufort’s favorite part of the cross country season were the unity nights because everyone got together for dinner and just hung out. He summed up the season in the word “hectic.”
Junior Christian Garcia’s favorite part of the season was the team bonding events, such as the unity nights. He used the word “thriller” to describe the season.
James Strueli said the unity nights were the most fun parts and he described the season as “pain.”
Freshman Brooklyn Schenk said her favorite part was getting close with the other cross country girls. She described fellow girls XC runner Alexandra Broome as a “very inspirational lady.” Her word to summarize the season was “transitional.”
Freshman varsity runner Martin Taylor’s favorite part of the season was the scenic views and socializing. His word to describe the season was “running.”
Declan Marsh’s favorite parts were the unity nights and the bus rides back. I also agree that the busrides back—especially the very long busride back from Portland—were very memorable. He described the season as “competitive.”
James Smith’s favorite part of the season was hanging out with the team and working together. He said the season was “fun.”
Varsity runner TJ Kressin’s favorite part of the season was both the food and the socializing at the unity nights. He says the season was “focused.”
Girls varsity runner Alexandra Broome’s favorite part of the season was the Nike Hole in the Wall meet. She says this is her favorite part because she got a good personal record at that meet. She summed up the season in “DB.” Alexandra chose not to elaborate.
Raegan Smith said her favorite part of the season was “Cheering everyone on cause of an injury due to knee problems.” She described the season in the phrase “Live Laugh Love.”
Varsity runner Tyler Clark said his favorite part of the season was going to the meets and “looking at Zane’s shopping list.” He described the season as “fast.”
Senior varsity runner Zane McAferty’s favorite part of the season was all of the memories made. He described the season as a mixture of “happy” and “sad” (sad because the season is ending).
Hayden Newman said his favorite part of the season was “Just like uh going to the invites and racing and pr’ing.” He summarized this particular season as “better.”
Freshman Sawyer Brown said his favorite part was the snacks and summarized the season as “miserable.”
Senior Ricky’s favorite part was the Hole In the Wall meet and described the season as “good.”
Christian Peña Garcia said his favorite part was the invitationals and described the season as “tedious.”
Jared Arcila said his favorite part of the season was the invitationals and summarized the season as “masochistic.”
Landon Anderson said his favorite part of the season was “hanging out and going to fun places.” He summarized the season as “tough but fun.”
