Clothing trends come and go. They fade and ignite with each season. Old ones from decades ago come circling back eventually.
In high school clothes can certainly mean a lot, they’re more then just fabric. We can use what we wear to express ourselves or promote brands and even opinions. With social media at an all time high its quite easy to be influenced. We naturally want to follow trends of what shoes, shirts and bottoms are popular right now, what is the new style of jeans that are in, and finding the nearest Hollister to get the same popular top everybody has.
There is nothing wrong with this obviously. Clothes are cool! And most of the time there trending for a reason, some styles just hit. They resonate with a mood or a moment. For instance one thing really trending around Tumwater Highschool is graphic T-shirts!
a graphic T- shirt is a casual shirt that features a printed image, design, logo, or text. These shirts can show off someone’s favorite band, a funny quote, an iconic cartoon, or even a political stance. They’re like wearable billboards for personality. In the featured image to the side it shows Dylan Ferris wearing one. Dylan was sporting a blue shirt with pokemon art printed on it. Its bright, eye catching and, shows a lot about Dylan’s interests without having to say a word.
Humans throughout history have used what we wear to express ourselves through personal style. You can see this in high schools today, people using clothes, shoes and accessories to show their very own personal aesthetic.
Two best friends, Payton Greenberg and Gianna Cocco, Chose to wear matching shirts featuring a common phrase, ¨bro¨.
not every one will understand why they did this but regardless it shows off their humor as well as their relationship with one another. The matching shirts were more than just an outfit, they were a shared inside joke, a bonding moment, and a statement of friendship.
What we wear is an inner reflection of ourselves. So weather your rocking the latest trend or sporting your pajamas, remember the coolest trend will always be staying true to who you are and wearing what you want. Because its a trend that is sure to never go out of style.
